Digital twins rethought: the future of industry at Hannover Messe 2026
EXP Software GmbH presented innovative applications of NVIDIA Omniverse and OpenUSD for industrial transformation together with its partners

Industrial digitalization is reaching a new stage of evolution: at Hannover Messe 2026, EXP Software GmbH invited visitors to the “NVIDIA Omniverse OpenUSD Expert Session” together with leading technology and research partners. The focus was on pioneering approaches to digital twins that make production processes more efficient, more transparent and more intelligent.
The 60-minute Expert Session took place on April 21 at 14:00 and on April 22 at 11:00 at the PNY Technologies booth (hall 15, booth H40) and offered hands-on insight into the industrial application of NVIDIA Omniverse and the OpenUSD data platform.
Digital twins as a key industrial technology
Digital twins are increasingly becoming the central foundation of modern production and planning processes. Combining NVIDIA Omniverse and OpenUSD enables end-to-end data integration that connects different systems, formats and disciplines with one another.
From CAD data through robot control to IoT and AI-supported analysis, this creates a holistic picture of industrial processes in real time. Companies benefit from significantly improved planning quality and optimized workflows along the entire value chain.
Hands on insight and real use cases
A particular highlight of the session were concrete application examples from industry. Leading companies demonstrated how collaborative digital twins are already being used successfully today, for instance in layout planning, virtual commissioning or the simulation of ergonomic workflows.
These practical insights showed how companies can make their production processes more efficient, reduce costs and increase flexibility at the same time.
Scalable technologies for broad adoption
Another focus was the accessibility of modern technologies. Cloud based solutions make NVIDIA Omniverse usable even without powerful workstations. Content can be streamed in real time to XR headsets, tablets or web browsers, a decisive step toward broad adoption in companies of every size.
AI-supported optimization and automated processes
Using Agentic AI opens up new possibilities for analyzing and optimizing digital twins. Intelligent systems are able to assess processes independently, identify potential for improvement and generate new scenarios.
This enables the continuous development of industrial workflows and creates the foundation for data-driven decisions in real time.
